Summary
In August 2005 the year-on-year change in the new housing construction cost index on the mainland was 2.2%, which represents a 0.7 percentage point (p.p.) increase from the growth pace observed in July. The year-on-year change in the housing regular repair and maintenance price index on the mainland was 4.0%, up 0.2 p.p. from the previous month. The product component had a year-on-year rate of change of 3.9%, up 0.4 p.p. from the previous period, while the services component for housing regular maintenance and repair increased by 0.1 p.p., to 4.0%.
