In January 2019, the unemployment rate was 6.6%, the same value as in the previous month and in three months before, and down 1.2 percentage points (pp) from the same month of 2018. That value corresponds to a downwards revision of 0.1 pp of the provisional estimate released one month ago.
In comparison to the previous month, the unemployed population has decreased by 0.7% (2.3 thousand people) and the employed population has increased by 0.1% (7.0 thousand).
The provisional unemployment rate estimate for February 2019 was 6.3%, down 0.3 p.p. from the previous month’s level.
