Extra Trade - Exports up by 6.0% and imports down by 9.5%

Summary
In the last quarter of 2008, exports grew by 6.0% and imports decreased by 9.5%, leading to a decrease in the deficit of the trade balance with Third Countries, comparing with the same period in the previous year (October to December 2007).
Within the reference period, comparing to the same period in 2007, the highest growth in imports were registered in Capital goods and Food and beverages and in exports in Transport equipment. In contrast, the group of Fuels and lubricants registered a sharp decline in import and in exports.
