Summary
In the second quarter of 2011, about 6.400 building permits were licensed, and approximately 8.900 buildings were completed. These figures represent an annual average of -10.4% and +9.4%, respectively, maintaining the trend registered in the previous quarters although with a slight rise in the beginning of 2011.
Completed buildings registered a recovery suggesting a higher concentration of construction activities in the completion of works in progress.
From the previous quarter, the number of building permits decreased by 1.9% and completed buildings decreased by 2.4%.
