Turnover in Retail Trade year-on-year rate of change (%) Hours worked year-on-year rate of change (%) Retail trade sales increased by 13.9% In February 2022, the following year-on-year rates of change were recorded in the Retail Trade sector: • Turnover index1: 13.9% (10.0% in the previous month); This growth originated in a base effect, which was particularly intense in non-food trade, as the retail trade turnover index contracted by 14.2% in February 2021, a month marked by the confinement at the beginning of the previous year due to the worsening of the COVID-19 pandemic; • Employment index: 4.6% (3.5% in january); • Wages and salaries index: 6.9% (6.8% in January); • Hours worked index2: 20.7% (7.1% in January). The month-on-month rate of change in the retail trade turnover index in February was 2.2% (-3.1% in the previous month).
