Área Metropolitana de Lisboa accounted for 30.1% of the total, followed by Algarve (21.8%), Norte (16.7%) and Região Autónoma da Madeira (14.2%); • All seventeen major inbound markets registered significant year-on-year increases and, as a whole, represented 86.6% of overnight stays spent by non- -residents in tourist accommodation establishments, particularly the British (18.9% of total overnight stays spent by non-residents), German (15.0%) and French (9.6%) markets.
