Algarve accounted for 27.1% of the total, followed by Área Metropolitana de Lisboa (26.5%), Norte (16.7%), and Região Autónoma da Madeira (12.1%); • All seventeen major inbound markets registered significant year-on-year increases and, as a whole, represented 88.0% of overnight stays spent by non- -residents in tourist accommodation establishments, particularly the British (19.8% of total overnight stays spent by non-residents), German (12.6%), and Spanish (12.2%) markets.
