FEBRUARY 2022 33 Total revenue of tourist accommodation establishments More information is available at: Tourism activity – December 2021 14 February 2022 Revenue In December 2021: • The total revenue registered in the tourist accommodation establishments reached €153.2 million, of which €180.0 million related to revenue of accommodation; • Compared to November 2019, total revenue decreased by 25.4% and revenue of accommodation decreased by 23.3%; • Área Metropolitana de Lisboa accounted for 31.9% of the total revenue and 34.2% of revenue of accommodation, followed by Norte (19.1% and 19.3%, respectively) and RA Madeira (17.5% and 16.4%, in the same order). In 2021, as a whole: • Compared to 2020, the total revenue grew by 61.2% and revenue of accommodation increased by 62.8%; • Compared to 2019, there were decreases of 45.7% in total revenue and 45.8% in revenue of accommodation.
