The Monetary and Financial Statistics provide - for Financial Intermediation, Section J of the Portuguese Classification of Economic Activities (CAE-Rev.2.1), the Portuguese version of NACE Rev.1.1 - figures referring to the 2006 accounting year.
The data scope comprises all entities whose main economic activity is included in the following NACE Rev.1.1 divisions and group:
- Financial Intermediation, except Insurance and Pension Funds (NACE Rev.1.1 65);
- Insurance and Pension Funding, except Compulsory Social Security (NACE Rev.1.1 66);
- Activities Auxiliary to Financial Intermediation, except Insurance and Pension Funds (NACE Rev.1.1 671).
The basic statistical unit on financial data is the enterprise. However, a limited number of variables concerning local units are also provided in this publication, which allows a regional approach.
