Summary
This publication releases for the first time an integrated characterisation of the areas corresponding to the three cross-border territorial cooperation communities set up within the scope of the Norte Region (Portugal) -Galicia (Spain) Association. This cross-border area is composed by the areas of the territorial cooperation communities (CTC) of Vale do Minho, Vale do Lima and Vale do Tâmega, integrating 84 municipalities (16 located in the Norte Region and 68 in Galicia). The information released, was broken down into municipality level, covering seven selected domains: territory, population, housing, health, education, labour market and business structure. Stress is laid on the comparison with the Euro-region of the Norte Region - Galicia where this cross-border area is integrated; the NUTS-2 regions involved - the Norte Region and Galicia; and the respective countries - Portugal and Spain. The analysis is accompanied by statistical tables, charts and maps that lead to a better interpretation of the information.
