Summary
The present publication, named "Profile of Main Commercial Stocks in Portugal", was carried out jointly by the Trade Observatory and the National Statistical Institute (INE). It aims at presenting the main results from the Shopping Establishments Survey ¿ Retailers from 1993 to 1999; from the Survey on Commercial stocks of relevant size, concerning 2000 and 2001 and from the Shopping Establishments Survey concerning 1999 to 2001. Due to the significant legal changes occurred meanwhile, a careful reading of the Methodological Notes is essential for an adequate analysis and interpretation of the results presented.
