Summary
This publication aims to characterise the Portuguese Social Protection with the presentation of the 2000 data. The data published in the "Social Protection Statistics" follows up the same structure of Portuguese actual situation. Besides including an overall chapter with data on Portuguese social protection it also comprises three chapters on the main schemes: social protection of private sector, social protection of public sector and the remaining schemes. Lastly, there is a chapter comparing the social protection of Portugal with the one of the European Union.
