In this publication (available only in Portuguese), Statistics Portugal releases the main results from the Portuguese Labour Force Survey: labour force, employment, unemployment, inactivity, activity rate, employment rate, and unemployment rate.

With the publication of the Labour Force results for the 1st quarter of 2011, Statistics Portugal starts a new series of data due to a change in the data collection mode, associated to the use of telephone interviews, to a change in the questionnaire, and to the adoption of new field work supervision technologies.

Given the series break, Statistics Portugal provides additional estimates, for the 1st quarter of 2011, calculated under the hypothesis the previous collection mode was kept in use. These estimates, as well as the description of the methodology used in their calculation, are available in chapter 6 (“Tema em análise”) of this publication (p. 31-40).
