Summary
Sales in industry increased in January 2010, 10.5% in year-on-year terms (3.7% in December) mainly reflecting the behaviour occurred in the energy group which recorded a growth rate of 31.3% (10.9% in the previous month). The turnover on the domestic market increased by 8.2% (-0.6% in December) while sales to foreign market increased, in year on year terms, 15.0%, 1.5 percentage points higher than last precedent. Employment, wages and hours worked (adjusted for calendar effects) decreased by 5.0%, 3.7% and 4.3% respectively.
