In February 2009, hotel activity registered 1.9 million of overnight stays, accounting for a year-on-year downturn of 14.3%, compared with February 2008. Non residents mainly contributed for this reduction (-19.4%), since residents had a lower downturn (-3.8%).
Total income from hotel activity reached 84.4 million euros and income from hotel occupancy 53.9 million euros, both corresponding to decreases of nearly 20%.
