In July 2022, 6.2 million passengers and 19.8 thousand tonnes of freight and mail were handled at national airports, corresponding to year-on-year variations of +122.5% and +20.0%, respectively (+186.0% and +16.9% in June, in the same order). Compared to July 2019, the movement of passengers decreased by 1.5% and the movement of freight and mail increased by 7.6% (-2.7% and +11.4% in the previous month, respectively).
In July 2022, there was a daily average of 104.3 thousand passengers disembarked at national airports (95.9 thousand in the previous month), approaching that recorded in July 2019 (105.5 thousand).
Between January and July 2022, the number of passengers increased by 269.1% vis-à-vis the same period of 2021 (-10.7% compared to the same period of 2019). The United Kingdom was the main country of origin and destination of flights, with year-on-year growths of 589.2% in the number of disembarked passengers and 675.4% in the number of embarked passengers.
