Summary
The CPI recorded an annual rate of change of 4.0% in March 2011. Excluding energy and unprocessed food, the annual rate was 2.4%. On a monthly basis, the CPI increased to 1.6% (0.0% in February and 1.1% in March 2010). The CPI 12-month average rate increased 0.3 percentage points (p.p.) to 2.3% in March.
In March 2011, the Portuguese Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) annual inflation rate increased to 3.9%, 1.3 p.p. above the rate estimated by Eurostat for the Euro area.
