Consumer Prices up 1.2% in June on a year earlier

Summary
The Portuguese Consumer Price Index (CPI) went up 1.2% in June 2010 when compared with June 2009. Excluding energy and unprocessed food, the annual rate increased to 0.2%, from -0.1% in May. On a monthly basis, the CPI remained constant at 0.2% (0.1% in June 2009). The CPI 12-month average rate of change increased to -0.2% in June (-0.5% in May).
In June, the Portuguese Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) annual inflation rate was 1.1% (the same as in May), 0.3 percentage points (p.p.) below the rate estimated by Eurostat for the Euro area.
