The Entry of Young People into the Labour Market

Summary
In the second quarter of 2009, 65.7% of young people aged 15 to 34 years old had completed an educational level and were not studying. The average age for leaving school was 19 years old (16 years for those who had formal education up to lower secondary education, increasing up to 24 years for those with higher education level). Almost all (92.7%) have had a job of more than three months after leaving school. For a quarter of these (25.6%) the transition from school to the first job lasted three months.
