In the first quarter of 2006 the average value of bank evaluation on housing in the mainland stood at €1,225/sq.meter, which represents a quarterly decrease of 1.0%. The highest average value of bank evaluation on housing, €1,481/sq.meter, continued to be observed in the Algarve Region. In the Lisboa Metropolitan Area, the average value of bank evaluation declined by 0.4% from the previous quarter, while in the Porto Metropolitan Area that decline was more marked, reaching -3.0%.
