The National Institutes of Statistics of Portugal and Spain have jointly published the 22nd edition of Peninsula Ibérica em Números | Península Ibérica en Cifras – 2025.
Published annually since 2004, this publication brings together official statistical indicators that enable the comparison of the social, economic, environmental and demographic characteristics of Portugal and Spain, placing them in the broader context of the European Union.
The fourteen thematic chapters (territory and environment; population; education and culture; health and social protection; living conditions; technology; the labour market; national accounts; international trade in goods; industry, construction and energy; agriculture and fisheries; services; transport; and tourism) offer different perspectives on the realities of the two countries.
The 2025 edition includes an update of most regional indicators at NUTS level 2, reflecting the recent revision of Portugal's territorial classification, which now distinguishes Greater Lisbon, Península de Setúbal, and Oeste e Vale do Tejo as separate regions.
The publication is trilingual, with texts in Portuguese, Spanish and English.
