General information and main results from 2024 tourism statistics are presented, including:

Context - an overview of the international and national economic context, based on information from various sources, namely the UN Tourism, Eurostat, the International Monetary Fund, the Banco de Portugal and Social Security. This section also includes data on the Consumer Price Index (CPI), movement of maritime cruises, tourist arrivals in Portugal and gross monthly earnings per employee in accommodation activities.

Tourism accommodation supply and occupation – results related to the supply and occupancy in tourist accommodation activity for the overall sector (tourist accommodation establishments, camping sites, holiday camps and youth hostels), focusing on key indicators: guests, overnight stays, average stay and, and regarding tourist accommodation establishments, also occupancy rates and revenues. Within the scope of the tourist supply, two further analyses are presented: the dependence of accommodation establishments on the main external markets and the seasonality pattern of the activity of tourist accommodation establishments.

Tourist demand from residents – detailed results on travel by residents within Portugal, including a characterization of their trips across various dimensions (purpose to travel, duration, means of transport, travel organization choices and expenditures).
