The 1999 issue of the Anuário Estatístico da Região Algarve (Statistical Yearbook of the Algarve Region) is composed of four parts: Territory and Population, Economic activity, Social indicators and Regional comparisons, which correspond to the different aspects according to which this region can be characterized. The purpose of this publication focuses on the release of statistical information at infra-regional and especially municipality level.
