The present edition of the Territorial Portrait of Portugal – 2011 is entirely dedicated to the in-depth study of three topics: The characterization of the urban system and the organization of the territory, The territorial perspective on recent changes in the family and The territorial insight on housing rehabilitation and renting. This analysis is only possible as structural information based on the final results of the Population and Housing Census became available. These topics are studied in the context of the three domains that define the structure of the Territorial Portrait of Portugal – territorial qualification, quality of life and cohesion and growth and competitiveness.
