The first chapter presents an analysis on agricultural production and economy for 2003. The main information for 2003 is presented in several tables and refers to Crop Production, Animal Production, Forestry, Economic Accounts for Agriculture and for Forestry, Prices and Index Prices on Agriculture, Balance Sheets and Food Industry.
Some of the most important results for year 2003, comparing with 2002, show:
In production terms: bad crop year for winter cereals; a decrease of fruits production; wine and olive oil: more production and better quality; a decrease of sheep and goats meat production; a significant decrease of poultry meat production; a reduction of cow’s milk production.
In economical terms: an increase on output price index; an increase on input price index; an increase on Gross Value Added at current prices on Agriculture; an increase on Agricultural Income.
