Summary
Favouring information disseminated by the Regional Statistical Yearbooks, this biennial publication presents a socioeconomic characterisation of the Portuguese territory. It is structured in three domains – Territorial qualification, Quality of life and cohesion and Competitiveness and growth – and, in each edition, different themes associated to each domain are analysed. In the present edition, are presented the following approaches: territorial valorisation of touristic destinations, demographic sustainability of the territories and industrial production and export orientation in the Portuguese regions.
Each theme presents an analytical text of the data, resorting to synthetic indicators and to visually appealing charts and cartograms.
