Press Releases are digital publications aimed at the media and the general public, which present the first results of official statistical operations. Their purpose is to disseminate, in a rapid, clear and accurate manner, the main economic and social indicators for Portugal, and they may also be used to convey other relevant information within the scope of Statistics Portugal’s activities.
For each of the available topics, the Press Releases contain a summary analysis of the most recent data and their development (in PDF), usually complemented by tables (in Excel and CSV) that provide more detailed and disaggregated information.
The Press Releases include technical and methodological notes, relevant to understanding the information published, and, whenever possible and applicable, links to the Portal Database, which is updated on an ongoing basis.
It should be noted that, on the detail page for each Press Release, the ‘Previous issues’ option provides access to all titles in the collection.
Published almost daily, in accordance with a public annual calendar, the Press Releases can be accessed directly from the Portal home page, or via Products> Press Releases, where they can be selected by Theme, Keyword and Date.
