Why is the website called "Official Statistics Website"?

Statistics Portugal, as one of the pillars of the National Statistical System, is the main producer of official statistics. The Statistics Portugal's website contains statistical information produced not only by Statistics Portugal, but also by entities to which it has formally delegated powers, under the terms of the law. The information produced by these entities is also classified as official. Other entities, although not having delegated powers, also produce official statistics. Because all this information is or may be incorporated on the Statistics Portugal's website, the title Official Statistics Website was considered to be the best choice.
