In May 2026, the tourist accommodation sector recorded 3.3 million guests (+3.9%) and 8.0 million overnight stays (+2.8%). These results accounted for EUR 755.7 million in total revenue and EUR 575.1 million in revenue from accommodation (+5.8% and +4.8%, respectively).
The increase in overnight stays was driven by positive contributions from both residents and non-residents. Overnight stays by residents rose by 7.6% (following a fall of 1.2% in April), reaching 2.1 million, whilst those by non-residents grew by 1.1% (following a rise of 1.0% in April), totalling 5.9 million.
Among the top ten inbound markets, the Brazilian and German markets stood out with the highest growth rates (+9.3% and +8.6%, respectively). In contrast, the French market recorded the largest decline (-11.3%).
In the same month, the revenue per available room (RevPAR) stood at EUR 84.0 (+0.7%), and the average daily rate (ADR) reached EUR 130.9 (+2.4%).
