Summary
In May, the Services Turnover Index recorded a year-on-year nominal increase of 2.2%, corresponding to a deceleration of 4.0 percentage points (p.p.) compared with the rate observed in the previous month. In real terms, the deflated index decreased by 1.6%, reversing the 1.1% growth recorded in April.
On a month-on-month basis, the nominal index decreased by 3.1% (increase of 1.6% in April).
The indices of employment, wages and salaries and hours worked (adjusted for calendar effects) showed year-on-year variations of -0.3%, 5.4%, and -0.1%, respectively (2.1%, 7.6%, and 1.4% in April).
