According to the 2008 EU-SILC (EU Statistics on Income and Living Conditions) survey (provisional data) based on 2007 incomes, the resident population in risk of poverty has been kept at 18%. The impact of social transfers (excluding pensions) in the decrease of the risk of poverty was about 6 percentage points.
In accordance with the same survey, income of the 20% top income group was 6,1 times the income of the 20% bottom income group. Gini Coefficient was 36%.
