In May 2026, 7.1 million passengers and 22.1 thousand tonnes of freight and mail were handled at national airports, corresponding to year-on-year variations of +2.9% and -3.3%, respectively (+2.1% and +3.2%, in the previous month, in the same order).
In that month, there was a daily average of 115.5 thousand passengers disembarked, higher than the 112.8 thousand recorded in May 2025, which corresponds to an increase of 2.4%.
Between January and May of 2026, the United Kingdom remained the main country of origin and destination of flights. France, Spain and Germany retained 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions, respectively. Brazil completed the group of the top five countries of origin, while Italy ranked 5th between the main destination countries.
