Overnight stays by residents increased by 5.6%, while those by non-residents declined for the second consecutive month - September 2025

Summary

The tourist accommodation sector accounted for 3.3 million guests (+1.1%) and 8.5 million overnight stays (+0.7%) in September 2025, resulting in a total revenue of EUR 840.1 million and EUR 659.1 million in revenue from accommodation (+5.6% and +5.8%, respectively).

Residents alone contributed to the growth in overnight stays, with an increase of 5.6% (+4.5% in August) for 2.5 million, as non-residents’ overnight stays fell by 1.2% (following a 0.4% decrease in August), totalling 6.0 million.

In September, among the top 10 inbound markets in terms of overnight stays, the German was the only one growing (+3.1%). The largest decreases were recorded in the Irish (-7.3%) and the French (-7.2%) markets.

The revenue per available room (RevPAR) was EUR 99.2 (+2.8%), while the average daily rate (ADR) was EUR 143.1 (+3.9%).
