In the 1st quarter of 2025, 7.1 thousand building permits were issued, representing an increase of 20.3% compared with the same period of the previous year, although below the 24.1% growth recorded in the 4th quarter of 2024. Building permits for new constructions rose by 21.3% (following +27.5% in the 4th quarter of 2024), while permits for renovations increased by 23.7%, accelerating from the 15.7% recorded in the previous quarter.
A total of 3.9 thousand buildings were completed, corresponding to a year-on-year increase of 1.1% and reversing the 3.6% decline observed in the previous quarter.
In the residential sector, licensed dwellings for new construction grew by 36.0%, reinforcing the 23.5% increase observed in the previous quarter. The number of dwellings completed recorded an increase of 18.4%, following +11.8% in the 4th quarter of 2024.
Compared to the previous quarter, the number of building permits issued rose by 3.8%, while the number of buildings completed fell by 3.9%.
