Summary

In the 4th quarter of 2024

Of the total persons who were unemployed in the 3rd quarter of 2024, 54.0% (180.7 thousand) remained in that state in the 4th quarter of 2024, 28.5% (95.5 thousand) moved into employment and 17.5% (58.5 thousand) moved into inactivity.

In the same period, 23.0% (36.7 thousand) of unemployed men and 33.6% (58.8 thousand) of unemployed women moved into employment.

From the 3rd quarter of 2024 to the 4th quarter of 2024, 35.3%  (73.2 thousand) of the short-term unemployed and 22.8% (29.0 thousand) of those inactives belonging to the “potential workforce” moved into employment.

At the same time, 10.2% (77.5 thousand) of those who were self-employed and 26.3% (88.1 thousand) of those who were unemployed in the previous quarter became employees.

Of the total of employees who, in the 3rd quarter of 2024, had a temporary work contract or other contractual arrangement, 20.5% (139.5 thousand) moved into a permanent work contract in the 4th quarter of 2024.

Of the total of workers who were part-time workers in the 3rd quarter of 2024, 21.6% (90.6 thousand) changed to full-time work in the 4th quarter of 2024. 

The percentage of persons who remained employed between the 3rd quarter of 2024 and the 4th quarter of 2024, but changed job, stood at 3.4% (168.9 thousand).

In the same period, 3.1% (150.6 thousand) of those who remained employed continued to have two or more jobs and 2.2% (107.7 thousand) moved from one job to two jobs or more.

Of the total persons aged 16 to 34 who, in the 3rd quarter of 2024, were not in employment, education or training (NEET), 25.3% (52.1 thousand) moved into employment in the 4th quarter of 2024, while 16.4% (33.7 thousand) started to attend education or training.

In 2024

Of the total persons who were unemployed in 2023, 35.2% (123.7 thousand) remained in that state in 2024, while 41.9% (147.1 thousand) moved into employment and 22.8% (80.2 thousand) to inactivity.

In the same period, 42.9% (72.0 thousand) of unemployed men and 41.0% (75.1 thousand) of unemployed women moved into employment.

From 2023 to 2024, 47.4%  (103.6 thousand) of the short-term unemployed  and 27.0% (39.6 thousand) of those inactives belonging to the “potential workforce” moved into employment.

At the same time, 12.6% (90.1 thousand) of those who were self-employed and 36.8% (129.2 thousand) of those who were unemployed in the previous year became employees.

Of the total of employees who, in 2023, had a temporary work contract or other contractual arrangement, 37.6% (282.7 thousand) moved into a permanent work contract in 2024.

Of the total of workers who were part-time workres in 2023, 29.9% (124.7 thousand) changed to full-time work in 2024.

The percentage of persons who remained employed between 2023 and 2024, but changed job, stood at 9.4% (448.5 thousand).

In the same period, 3.2% (150.1 thousand) of those who remained employed continued to have two or more jobs and 2.3% (107.3 thousand) moved from one job to two jobs or more.

Of the total persons aged 16 to 34 who, in 2023, were not in employment, education or training (NEET), 33.5% (69.1 thousand) moved into employment in 2024, while 18.3% (37.8 thousand) started to attend education or training.
