Summary

October 2022:

• The active population (5,200.2 thousand) remained, in relative terms, practically unchanged from the previous month, having increased by 0.3% from July 2022 and by 0.7% from October 2021.

• The employed population (4,886.9 thousand) increased by 0.1% both from the previous month and from three months before and by 1.0% from one year earlier.

• The unemployed population (313.2 thousand) decreased by 0.6% from September 2022 and by 4.1% from October 2021, having increased by 3.1% from July 2022.

• The unemployment rate stood at 6.0%, down 0.1 percentage points (pp) from the previous month, up 0.1 pp from three months before and down 0.3 pp from a year earlier.

• The inactive population (2,457.9 thousand) decreased from the three periods under comparison: by 0.1%, 0.7% and 2.3%, respectively.

• The labour underutilisation rate was estimated at 11.2%, down 0.1 pp from the previous month, down 0.3% from three months before and down 0.4 pp from one year earlier.

November 2022 :

• The active population (5,198.4 thousand) remained, in relative terms, practically unchanged from the previous month, having increased from August 2022 (0.1%) and from November 2021 (0.5%).

• The employed population (4,886.8 thousand) has decreased from the previous months (0.4%) and from three months before (0.3%) and has increased from a year earlier (0.3%).

• The unemployed population (331.6 thousand) increased from the three periods under comparison (previous month, three months before and same month of previous year): 5.9%, 6.7% and 3.2%, respectively.

• The unemployment rate stood at 6.4%, also up from October and August 2022 (0.4 pp from both months) and from November 2021 (0.2 pp).

• The inactive population (2,461.0 thousand) increased by 0.1% from the previous month and has decreased by 0.1% from three months before and by 2.1% from one year earlier.

• The labour underutilisation rate stood at 11.6%, up 0.4 pp from the previous month, up 0.2 pp from three months before and equal to the rate of the same month of 2021.
