Adverse prospects for the wine season: wine grape yield falls by 20%
Agricultural forecasts
Adverse prospects for the wine season: wine grape yield falls by 20% - August 2005
19 September 2005

Summary
On 31 August early estimates point to a very negative scenario of the present crop year with significant and broadly based falls in both temporary crops and permanent crops. In effect, and in addition to the bad cereal season, the decline of approximately 20% in potato production is also worth mentioning; orchards are not very productive, and part of production will probably fail to be marketed, on account of the small size of the fruits. Finally, dehydration observed in grapes will lead to a significant decline in the production volume in the present wine season.
