Summary

June 2022:

The active population (5,189.5 thousand) increased by 0.1% from May 2022 and by 0.4% from June 2021, having a near null relative change from March 2022.

The employed population (4,879.8 thousand) increased from the previous month (0.1%) and from one year before (1.3%) and decreased from three months before (0.2%).

The unemployed population (309.7 thousand) decreased by 0.4% from May, increased by 3.2% from March and decreased by 11.9% from June 2021.

The unemployment rate stood at 6.0%, remained unchanged from the previous month, up 0.2 percentage points(pp) from three months before and down 0.8 pp from a year earlier.

The inactive population (2,470.5 thousand) decreased by 0.2% from the previous month and from three months earlier and decreased by 1.6% from June 2021.

The labour underutilisation rate was estimated at 11.6%, up 0.1 pp from the previous month, up 0.3 pp from three months before and down 1.1 pp from the same month of 2021.

July 2022:

The active population (5,182.5 thousand) decreased by 0.1% from June, increased by 0.1% from July 2021, having a near null relative change from April 2022.

The employed population (4,876.2 thousand) decreased from the previous month and from three months before (0.1% for both), having increased by 0.9% from a year earlier.

The unemployed population (306.2 thousand) decreased by 1.1% from the previous month and by 10.2% from July 2021, having increased from April 2022 (0.6%).

The unemployment rate stood at 5.9%, down 0.1 pp from the previous month, down 0.7 pp from one year before, but remained unchanged from three months before.

The inactive population (2,478.0 thousand) increased from the previous month (0.3%) and from three months before (0.1%) and decreased from a year earlier (1.0%).

The labour underutilisation rate stood at 11.5%, down 0.1 pp from the previous month, up 0.1 pp from three months before and down 0.9 pp from July 2021.
