The Consumer Price Index (CPI) annual rate moved from 0.5% in January 2019 to 0.9% in February 2019. The annual core inflation rate, which excludes energy and unprocessed food products components, was 1.0% (0.8% in the previous month).
The CPI monthly rate was -0.2% (-1.2% in the previous month and -0.7% in February 2018), while the CPI 12-month average rate was 1.0% (0.9% in the previous month).
In February 2019, the Portuguese Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) annual rate of change was 0.9% (0.6% in the previous month), 0.6 percentage points (p.p.) below the rate estimated by Eurostat for the Euro area (same difference in the previous month).
