Summary
The new orders in construction index presented a year-on-year decrease of 39.4% in the first quarter of 2015 (change rate of 29.5% in the previous quarter). This behaviour was determined by Civil Engineering sector index which moved from a change rate of 50.4% in the fourth quarter of 2014 to -58.7% in the following quarter. It should be mentioned that this result is influenced by the strong growth presented by this index in the 1st quarter 2014 (106.0%). The Building Construction index presented a year-on-year change rate of -1.6% (13.7% in the previous quarter).
