Summary
The CPI 12-month average rate of change decreased from 1.0% in August to 0.8% in September. The core inflation index, which excludes unprocessed food and energy, remained stable at 0.5%.
The HICP 12-month average rate decreased from 1.1% in August to 0.9% in September. In August 2013 the Portuguese HICP 12-month average rate was 0.7 percentage points (p.p.) lower than the rate observed for the Euro-area. In September, the Portuguese HICP 12-month average rate was 0.8 p.p. lower than Eurostat's flash estimate for the whole area.
