Statistics Portugal releases the first Estimates of Resident Population in Portugal for 2010 and 2011, derived from the 2011 Census provisional results.
2011 is characterized by a decrease of 30 317 individuals, as a result of a negative natural balance (-5 986) and a negative net migration (- 24 331). As a result the resident population is estimated at 10 541 840 inhabitants by 31 December 2011.
