Rainfall mitigates decreases in winter cereal yields but damages cherry
- May 2012
21 June 2012
Summary
Early estimates on May 31 point to a decline in yield of grain cereal, softened by the rainfall occurred in the last two months. Still, the reductions in yield should range between 15% in barley and 30% in triticale. Also the cherry should show a decrease in productivity, more clear in the early varieties, and supposed to be around 15%. The sowing/planting of summer crops have progressed smoothly. The maintenance of the surface of maize, rice and sunflower, and decreases in processed tomato and irrigated potato are expected.
