This outcome resulted from the decrease in imports of Protective equipment (-24.5%, EUR -178 million), with emphasis on imports of masks from China. Tourist trips taken by residents increased by 83.9%, but still below the figures recorded in the 2 nd quarter of 2019 In the 2 nd quarter of 2021: • Residents in Portugal made 3.6 million trips, corresponding to a year- -on-year increase of 83.9% (-35.4% compared to the 2 nd quarter of 2019).
