In the 3 rd quarter of 2021, retail sales also grew by 2.7% year-on-year (they had increased by 16.4% in the 2 nd quarter, a period heavily influenced by the base effect). The following year-on-year rates of change were also recorded in September 2021: • Employment index: 2.2% (1.5% in August); • Wages and salaries index: 3.5% (2.9% in August); • Hours worked index 2 : 2.5% (2.7% August).
