February . 05 . 2021 SYNTH SIS IN @ COVID-19 Business investment will have decreased by 16.3% in 2020 and perspectives for 2021 point to an increase of 3.5% The prospects of firms reported in the October 2020 1 Investment Survey indicate that business investment in 2020 fell by 16.3% in nominal terms. This figure is clearly below the results of the April 2020 (-8.9%) and October 2019 (+3.6%) surveys, largely reflecting the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on economic activity, which led to the cancellation or postponement of investment decisions. 1 The survey took place between the 1 st of October 2020 and the 14 th of January 2021.
