The unemployment rate was 7.1% (+0.7 percentage points (p.p.) over the previous quarter and +0.4 p.p. compared with the same quarter of 2019). Unemployment Rate The unemployment rate was higher than the average of the country in four regions: Região Autónoma da Madeira (10.7%), Algarve (9.9%), Área Metropolitana de Lisboa (7.7%), and Alentejo (7.4%).
