Anossa expectativa é naquilo que já fazemos hoje bem
a uma escala pequena passarmos a fazer amanhã
melhor, a uma escala grande. O grande desafio que
temos é de procurarmos encontrar sempre
disponibilidade entre os quadros das nossas duas
instituições para que nada emperre.
Our two institutions have in fact been working
together before the 90s. We have started out with
specific training actions and exchange of
documentation. These have evolved to awhole diverse
set of planned actions on capacity building,
culminating in the National Statistical System that is in
place today inMozambique.
Portugal has strongly contributed either through
training, inspiration and guidance of our staff, as well
as in offering quality solutions and internationally
acceptable standards.
Our expectations are to do better in the future, on a
larger scale, what we already do well today on a small
scale. The great challenge we face is to try to find
always availability between the staff of our two
institutions so that cooperation doesn't stop flowing.
Foi também assinado, em junho de 2014, um novo
contrato entre o INE de Portugal e o INE de
Moçambique nas áreas de IPC, ICP e Síntese de
Conjuntura, que estará em vigor nos próximos 3
anos. Qual é a expetativa do INE de Moçambique
quanto a este contrato? E quais considera serem os
principais desafios à sua execução?
A new contract between Statistics Portugal and NSI-
Mozambique was also signed, in June 2014, in what
concerns CPI, short-term indicators and short-term
analysis, for the next 3 years. What are the
expectations of NSI-Mozambique for this contract?
And what do you consider to be the main challenges to
its implementation?

Mozambique is currently implementing the Strategic
Plan for 2013-2017. How do you see the National
Statistical System of Mozambique in 2017? What do
you consider to be the main challenges for NSI-
Mozambique nowadays?
Um: Maior domínio de tecnologias modernas na
produção das estatísticas e na interação entre nós,
produtores, os utilizadores da informação bem como
os fornecedores dos dados primários.
Dois: Realização do IV Recenseamento Geral da
População e Habitação em 2017 com recurso a novas
tecnologias que nos permitam publicar os resultados
definitivos em 6 meses contra os 24 meses dos censos
anteriores.
Firstly: Better mastering the modern technologies in
the production of statistics and in the interaction
between producers, users of information and suppliers
of primary data.
Secondly: Implementation of the IV Population and
Housing Census in 2017, through new technologies
enabling us to publish the final results in 6 months,
versus the 24months of the previous censuses.
