Cooperação com os Países de Língua Portuguesa Cooperation with Portuguese-speaking Countries COOPSTAT NEWS N.º 27 26 INE acolhe reunião da UNECE sobre Inovação na Recolha de Dados | Statistics Portugal hosts UNECE meeting on Innovation in Data Collection Entre 2 e 4 de junho de 2025, o INE acolheu, no seu Salão Nobre, em Lisboa, a UNECE Expert Meeting on Statistical Data Collection and Sources. O evento reuniu 90 participantes de 30 países — incluindo 25 institutos nacionais de estatística — além de especialistas do meio académico, organismos internacionais e do setor privado. A edição deste ano centrou-se na modernização da recolha de dados estatísticos, com destaque para a automatização, integração de inteligência artificial, edição e limpeza de dados, e uso de fontes não tradicionais. Os debates abordaram temas como classificação automática, chatbots no apoio à resposta, gestão de entrevistadores e uso de dados administrativos. Ao longo de três dias intensivos de apresentações e workshops, os participantes partilharam soluções inovadoras e refletiram sobre práticas emergentes. As sessões interativas reforçaram o espírito colaborativo da comunidade estatística internacional, destacando a criatividade e o empenho técnico dos profissionais envolvidos. O INE considerou uma honra receber esta reunião e contribuir para o debate global sobre o futuro das fontes estatísticas. Como afirmou o Presidente do Conselho Diretivo do INE, António Rua, na abertura do encontro: “É através da colaboração — entre países, instituições e setores — que fortalecemos, em conjunto, os nossos sistemas estatísticos.” From 2 to 4 June 2025, Statistics Portugal hosted the UNECE Expert Meeting on Statistical Data Collection and Sources in its Great Hall in Lisbon. The event brought together 90 participants from 30 countries — including representatives from 25 national statistical institutes — as well as experts from academia, international organisations, and the private sector. This year’s edition focused on the modernisation of statistical data collection, with particular emphasis on automation, the integration of artificial intelligence, data editing and cleaning, and the use of non-traditional sources. Discussions addressed topics such as automatic classification systems, the use of chatbots in respondent support, interviewer management, and the integration of administrative data in statistical operations. Over three intensive days of presentations and workshops, participants shared innovative solutions and reflected on emerging practices. The interactive sessions strengthened the spirit of collaboration within the international statistical community, highlighting the creativity and technical commitment of all those involved. Statistics Portugal was honoured to host this meeting and to contribute actively to the global dialogue on the future of statistical sources.
