DESPORTO EM NÚMEROS \ 15 EMPRESAS DO SETOR DESPORTIVO1 | SPORTS SECTOR ENTERPRISES1 > Em 2024, pertenciam ao setor desportivo 19 959 empresas (1,3% do setor não financeiro), que eram responsáveis por 3,0 mil milhões de euros de volume de negócios (0,5%) e por 1,2 mil milhões de euros de Valor Acrescentado Bruto (VAB) (0,7%)1. Em relação ao ano anterior, o número de empresas do setor desportivo registou um acréscimo de 10,4%, tendo o volume de negócios aumentado 6,6% e o VAB aumentado 10,3%. As empresas de gestão de instalações desportivas, atividades de clubes desportivos, atividades de ginásio (fitness) e de outras atividades desportivas geraram, em conjunto, 53,4% do volume de negócios e foram responsáveis por 70,9% do VAB do setor. As empresas do setor desportivo localizavam-se principalmente na região Norte (33,8%) e na Grande Lisboa (24,2%), concentrando, em conjunto, mais de metade (58,0%) das empresas desportivas. Considerando a atividade principal, o número de empresas das atividades de ginásio (fitness) foram as que registaram o maior acréscimo (mais 20,8% em relação a 2023), localizando-se principalmente nas regiões do Norte (37,5% do total) e na Grande Lisboa (22,3%). As empresas de construção de embarcações de recreio e desporto situavam-se sobretudo no Norte (34,6%), enquanto mais de 1/3 das empresas de fabricação de artigos de desporto estavam sediadas na Grande Lisboa. O volume de negócios gerado pelas empresas da Grande Lisboa (43,5%) e do Norte (35,7%) representavam cerca de 4/5 do total do volume de negócios das empresas do setor desportivo. Em 2024, a produtividade aparente do trabalho para o setor desportivo (26,6 mil euros) foi inferior à registada para o total do setor não financeiro (32,1 mil euros). In 2024, 19,959 enterprises belonged to the sports sector (1.3% of the non-financial sector), which were responsible for 3.0 thousand million euros of turnover (0.5%) and for 1.2 thousand million euros of Gross Value Added (GVA) (0.7%)1. Compared to the previous year, the number of sports sector enterprises recorded an increase of 10.4%. Their turnover increased 6.6% and the GVA increased 10.3%. The operation of sports facilities enterprises, the activities of sports clubs, the fitness facilities, and other sports activities generated, as a whole, 53.4% of the sector turnover and 70.9% of the sector GVA. The sports sector enterprises were mainly located in the Norte region (33.8%) and Grande Lisboa (24.2%), together concentrating more than half (58.0%) of the sports enterprises. Considering the main activity, the number of enterprises in the gym (fitness) activities recorded the highest increase (more 20.8% compared to 2023), mostly located in the Norte region (37.5% of the total) and Grande Lisboa (22.3%). The enterprises of building of pleasure and sporting boats were mainly located in the Norte (34.6%), while more than 1/3 of the manufacture of sports goods enterprises were based in the Grande Lisboa region. The turnover generated by the enterprises in Grande Lisboa (43.5%) and the Norte (35.7%) represented around 4/5 of total turnover of the enterprises in the sports sector.
